The “vadduna”, seasonal waterways typical of Sicilian coastal areas, have been gradually reshaped by urbanization, being often covered, diverted, and reduced to drainage channels. Yet during heavy rainfall, water reappears and flows through these spaces, eventually causing flood events which are becoming more frequent due to climate change. Through a walk along the stream and coastline, participants are invited to observe the landscape from the perspective of water, questioning the obstacles it encounters, its diversions, and the ways human activities occupy its space. The experience is enhanced by a subjective mapping workshop, where participants create a personal map of their journey, turning observation into a collective narrative. The initiative encourages a renewed awareness of waterways as living elements of the landscape and invites reflection on possible forms of coexistence between water and urban environments.
